Raising Money, And Possible Book Club
Alright! So, to start off, last week was CYT's Teen Extreme camp. I had a lot of fun. There was dancing, singing, we came up with some pretty neat inventions that could never be real - it was great. The theme for the camp was Change Your World. So, there is an organization called the Thirst Project. What they do is build wells in different places to provide clean water to those who don't have access to it. It's really cool. On Friday and Saturday (A week from yesterday) Addi and I went to a couple workshops and learned some hip hop dances. The guy who was teaching us the dances (His name is Erik) helps out with the Thirst Project, so he told us all about it. Definitely go research this project, because they are really really cool. Yeah, so our CYT camp brought in change to raise money for them. The way it worked was each team had a bucket. Change, coins, add to your teams points, and dollar bills subtract points from your team. Our goal was to raise $350 for the Thirst Project. After all week, the workshop money, buying T-Shirts, and some donations and purchasing other merchandise at the showcase on Friday, we raised over $1,500. So, yeah, that's pretty amazing.
Yesterday, we went to a family reunion. That was pretty fun. We spent more time driving there and back then we did actually at the reunion, but it was still fun. My Grandma made a really cool family tree and there was delicious food and I got to hang out with the cousins. It was a LOOOOOONNNNNGGG day, but a good one.
Also, excited for the upcoming summer. I'm hoping to start driving and get a job very soon, so we'll see how that goes.
Finally, comment and tell me if you guys would like it if I started another blog for books. I think it'd be fun if it was like a reading club where I chose a book and we read it and I discussed it and you all (Yup, all seven of you) could leave comments about it and such. I'd also let you pitch in your opinions on books we should read. It'd be like an online book club. I'd enjoy that a lot, so let me know if any of you would like that.
