Update / I want to LEARN
Okay, so first, an update:
School is going pretty good. I've had a lot of homework, it's been keeping me very busy, which is a good thing I guess. It's pretty much just reading though, which is good. I'm taking all online classes- a couple Omnibus classes (which is like History, Bible & English rolled together), Chemistry, Spanish II, and a Fiction Writing class.
All of them are great. All the teachers are great. Something I've noticed, especially about my Omnibus teachers, is that they know so much. They have so much knowledge packed into their heads and they love sharing it with their students. It gets me so excited to 'come to class' (my basement) and learn!

I really want to learn. I want to find things out, to question and find the answer to things I don't trust. I don't just want to accept that pi equals 3.14 I wanna know why. Who came up with that? How do we know pi is infinite? What if we just haven't found the end? I want to know how a number even can be infinite, how can that even happen? Have past mathematicians and scientists just given up? What if they stopped just a couple of numbers before the end? I don't just want to accept things to be true, I want to prove them. I want to know how the wind works, how exactly one little seed somehow grows into an entire tree. I want to know how your brain can hold so much information. I want to know how words function. I want to know how text messages work, how it's possible to press send and somehow it gets to someone miles away. In want to know how records work, how gravity works. Why don't things fall up?
I want to know more about history, I want to be educated on the past. I wanna know about the wars, when they happened, what caused them, how we can prevent them in the future. I want to know what kind of political system has worked in the past, and which ones didn't.
I don't want to just memorize facts, I want to know the things that matter. I don't want history to just be the past for me, I want to actually learn all about it and think about it. What would it have been like for the people living during that time?
I want to be able to think critically, to challenge myself. I want to ask a question and seek out the answer. I'm tired of accepting facts and filling my brain with things people tell me are true. I want to figure that out for myself, to expand and learn what else there is to it.
Basically, I just want to know.
Basically, I just want to know.
